IEQUITY MARKET

How to compare supplier quotations fairly

Compare quotations for the same specification, quantity, currency and delivery scope. Calculate the confirmed total, mark missing charges as unknown, and check timing, seller identity and problem-resolution terms before choosing.

Make the quotations comparable first

A lower unit price can describe a different pack size, grade or delivery arrangement. Before ranking offers, ask each seller to confirm the same requirement. Keep written clarifications beside the original quotation, with its date and validity period. An expired price needs reconfirmation.

Timing and availabilityStock confirmation, dispatch date and expected arrival. Is the date an estimate or an agreed commitment?
Payment and validityCurrency, payment stages, recipient and expiry date.Do payment details match the seller and written agreement?
Quality and problemsSample terms, inspection, defects, returns and responsible contact.Who pays the costs if the goods do not meet the agreement?

Compare totals without hiding unknown costs

Use quantity × unit price + confirmed delivery + other confirmed charges. Keep unknown costs in a separate column; missing does not mean zero. If currencies differ, record the exchange-rate source and date used for comparison, then confirm the actual payment currency with the seller.

Illustrative example only: for 100 identical units, seller A quotes AMD 1,000 per unit plus AMD 20,000 delivery: AMD 120,000. Seller B quotes AMD 1,080 per unit plus AMD 5,000 delivery: AMD 113,000. B is AMD 7,000 lower for these quoted components, although its unit price is higher. Neither amount is a complete purchase cost until all other charges and terms are confirmed. These are fictional figures, not offers from iEquity Market sellers.

Check the seller as well as the quote

Ask for the seller’s business identity, a working contact and relevant product evidence or samples. Check important claims against independent sources where available. A listing, message or low price is not proof of reliability. If a payee or payment instruction changes unexpectedly, verify it through a contact channel you already trust.

When is a quotation ready for a decision?

Choose only after material differences and missing costs are resolved in writing. Save the agreed specification, quantity, total or clearly defined variable charges, delivery scope, dates and problem-resolution process. If an important answer is still missing, request clarification rather than treating the quote as complete.
